Boy Scouts Del-Mar-Va Council

offers a varied program to develop leadership and personal growth through study, fellowship, events, community service and camping. A new innovative effort is focusing on Hispanic youth is underway.

Character Counts! Kent County

takes more than 100 community leaders into public school classrooms throughout the County as Character Coaches to encourage the concepts of character; Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship.

Echo Hill Outdoor School

conducts a program of interdisciplinary outdoor education to encourage curiosity and learning about the environment, farming, and the rich history of Kent County, featuring boating excursions on the Chesapeake Bay.

Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Council

has a varied program to develop confidence, courage and character for girls through troop activities and outdoor experiences. A new program of science education is particularly popular.

Horizons Student Enrichment Program

serves low income families in the County by providing a high quality summer enrichment program for elementary and middle school children. Participants begin each new school year with a head start and an enthusiastic approach.

Horizons Student Enrichment Program

Summer 2010...the Horizons Student Enrichment Program headquartered at the Radcliffe Creek School campus which created a stimulating learning environment for students coming from low income families in the area. Classes included computer lab, art and cooking classes as well as basic instruction in reading. In addition to reading, the kids had math and social studies activities. Children's reading skill levels grew at least 5 months in our six-week program!

Swimming lessons were possible thru a no-fee schedule provided by Kent County, Maryland Parks and Recreation and a grant from the Women and Girls Fund. Echo Hill was hired to work with the kids when they rotated out of their swim lessons. Two-thirds of the 60-some children learned to swim!
